Ordering checks for the Solo 401k
How should I order checks for the Solo 401k account?
- The 401k name must be printed on the checks as the account holder
Check your plan documents, e.g. the EIN document, for the correct spelling.
- The 401k name should also be the name on the bank account
- The 401k address should be listed on the checks
If you’d like a different address printed on the checks, please confirm with the bank first.
- Ordering the checks is the expense of the plan and should be paid from the 401k account
This is not a personal expense and should not be paid using personal funds.
- A debit card can be obtained for the 401k
A credit card cannot be obtained for the 401k and would be considered a prohibited transaction.
